I’m so glad you like it Clazz. Oooo that is so great you’re so close in Edinburgh – there are so many absolutely stunning walks in the Lake District. I didn’t do any ‘hard’ ones, but I did a few mediums and easies, and they were challenge enough (but very rewarding as the views are just gorgeous). Thanks for reading and have a great weekend 🙂

We’re hoping to visit the Lake District a lot more now that we’ve discovered how easy it is to get to from Edinburgh. There are so many walks I’d like to do, but I haven’t really researched many “easy” ones so this would be perfect! I will have to read your other Lake District posts. 🙂

By: The Lake District: A 2 day windermere itinerary – Barney Travel Technologies/2021/09/15/the-lake-district-a-guide-to-hiking-loughrigg-fell/comment-page-1/#comment-1839Wed, 22 Sep 2021 08:57:43 +0000/?p=8082#comment-1839[…] If you’re not a confident walker, then this part of the itinerary isn’t for you. You could instead do a lovely walk at Lily Tarn or at the waterfalls mentioned above. If you want the stunning views out over Windermere and beyond though, then Loughrigg Fell is a manageable walk that starts and ends in Ambleside and gives absolutely stunning reward for the effort required. We chose to walk the 11km route, taking us 3 hours. A full write up of this walk and the route, plus alternatives, can be found in my post HERE. […]

I’m so glad you like it. Oh wow that’s a great goal to have and I really hope you can complete that one day soon 🙂 The Lake District is stunning so you will really enjoy Scafell Pike and the countless other hikes all around.

Aww I’m so glad you like it! We really were so lucky with the weather to get such striking views, it was special. Oh I totally agree, the pressure on the knees on a steep descent is NOT fun!!!

Yep, I’m with you on the downhills … though uphill is sometimes a challenge, it’s those downhills that work the legs (or rather the knees)!]]>Love-love this hike! You had such amazing views – that blue sky and green hills do make some pretty pictures 😊. In fact, we’ll have to if we want to climb Scafell Pike. Our goal is to climb the three highest summits in Great Britain. Snowden is the only one we’ve completed so far. The Lake District looks beautiful. I can see why it’s so popular.

False summits are never fun, and neither are the descents in general. This looks like it was well worth the effort though. The cave also looks pretty neat.
