Introducing our new staff – Ms Priyanka Erasmus

 

Priyanka is a Project Officer for the UNEP 10YFP on Sustainable Buildings and Construction (SBC) in the School of Property, Construction and Project Management. Priyanka is also the School HDR Administrator.

Priyanka works closely with Associate Professor Usha Iyer-Raniga, who is the project Co-Lead, on the 10YFP Sustainable Building and Construction Programme. She provides stakeholder focused administration to the Co-Lead and members of the Multi-stakeholder Administration Committee in relation to the project, and in particular assists with the management of designated projects as determined in consultation with the 10FYP Secretariat.

Priyanka provides support for projects to be undertaken for the Sustainable Buildings and Construction (SBC) Programme, which forms part of the Ten Year Framework of Programmes (10FYP) on Sustainable Consumption and Production, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). She is accountable for the monitoring and administration of projects, which will interface with educational, industry and relevant government bodies nationally, regionally and globally. She coordinates the stakeholder interface of academia, industry and government by organising and attending meetings as appropriate. She develops reports and minutes as appropriate to the 10YFP and stakeholders. She also assists with the development and preparation of submissions and reports as required to various funding agencies/bodies as determined.

In her role as School HDR Administrator, Priyanka provides academic administration support for the research programs offered by the School and is the first point of contact for all HDR related queries. She also assists with organising the research seminars.

Since obtaining a Master of International Development in 2010, Priyanka has been a sessional tutor with the School of Global, Urban and Social Studies and has taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses including SOCU2112 Global Political Economy and POLI1099 Global Governance. Priyanka has also published in the field of Logistics and Supply Chain with the School of Business IT & Logistics in the College of Business.
