A new ‘Employability in the curriculum’ website has just been launched in response to RMIT’s strategic focus on enhancing students’ employability and enterprise formation skills.
The website focuses on ‘Teaching and Learning’ pedagogy and aims to increase staff knowledge of Career Development Learning (CDL). It covers everything from the principles of CDL to program design, and offers a step-by-step approach on how integrate them into the curriculum.
Dynamic tools are a feature of the site and include employability frameworks, teaching tips, activities, videos, references and links to external resources which can be delivered directly in the classroom. Assessment types to support CDL are also available and marking rubrics for some activities are suggested.
Many of the resources are linked and while they can be offered as an individual activity they may also be delivered as an integrated series.
The content for this site will grow as graduate employability becomes an increasingly important aspect of program design.
