Staff Member in Profile: Dr Peter S.P. Wong

Dr. Peter S.P. Wong is a senior lecturer within the School of Property Construction and Project Management at RMIT University. He is an active researcher and a founding member of the Research Centre for Integrated Project Solutions (CIPS). As at 2015, his research endeavours have led to a total of 1 book, 8 book chapters and more than 55 papers accepted or published in a number of top ranked refereed journals and conference proceedings. He was awarded on a competitive basis multiple research grants amounting to over A$820,000. Dr. Wong’s recent research initiatives include organisational change management, organisational learning and culture, carbon reduction in construction, construction tendering, contract administration and dispute resolution.

Dr. Wong is a chartered quantity surveyor with solid industry experience. He worked as a quantity surveyor with Rider Levett Bucknall Ltd, and was involved in a number of prestigious construction projects in Hong Kong and mainland China. He has rich teaching experience in Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne. His expertise in international education has been recognized by his appointment as Program Manager (offshore) for the BAppSc Construction Management programs.

At national level, Dr. Wong is the member of the the Australian Institutes of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS) Education Board and Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Board of Assessment of Professional Competence (APC). At the international level, he is the Editorial board member of the International Journal of Project Organization and Management and the plenary chairs of a number of ERA recognised international conferences.
