Graduate cements place with major international construction company

Winning the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Global Student Challenge was just the beginning for RMIT construction management graduate Oscar Savage.
The leader of RMIT’s 2014 winning team in Hong Kong has landed a coveted graduate role with international construction company Brookfield Multiplex in London.
With the construction industry in London currently booming, Savage believes there is no better place for him to gain valuable life and work experience.
“It really is a dream come true, and I am looking forward to learning as much as I can and really working on my career,” he said.

“RMIT’s industry focus is its real strength”, he said.
“The privilege to learn from lecturers and guest speakers who have worked or are still working in the industry has been invaluable.”
“The well-rounded course structure and the collaborative learning experiences have allowed me to enter into the industry well prepared and with confidence”.
Peter Wong, Program Manager for the offshore part of RMIT’s Construction Management program, also emphasised RMIT’s industry focus.
“We believe that a successful program is not simply deployed for transmitting our knowledge to the students, but also creating students opportunities to practice what they learned, helping them to develop global perspectives and enhancing their national and international exposure,” he said.
