RMIT Property, Construction and Project Management are please to announce a new Scholarship for our students available this year. Applications have now closed and the winner will be acknowledged at our annual Industry and Research Awards Night.

We ran an information session on Monday 15 August 2016 for Coles to speak to students about who they are, what they do and what the scholarship is all about. They were also in attendance at our Careers Day on Tuesday 22 August 2016.

Coles is one of Australia’s largest retailers, providing a range of fresh food, groceries, general merchandise, liquor and fuel to millions of customers every week. We have over 100,000 team members and a combination of more than 2,300 retail outlets across the country.

These outlets aren’t built by themselves, and Coles has a dedicated Property team that provides a full range of property services to each of our retail businesses. The role of the Property team is to acquire, lease, develop and protect quality property assets, to facilitate the strategic plan of Coles.

Some of our key activities include:

Negotiating new and renewing existing leases
Acquiring freehold properties and businesses
Expanding and refurbishing existing Stores, Distribution Centres and Store Support Centres
Managing the design, construction and opening of freehold retail developments
Recommending property solutions to address customer expectations
Preparing and analysing real estate strategies
