Introducing our new staff – Tony McGough

Tony McGough joined RMIT in March 2016, and is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Property, Construction and Project management. Tony has over 20 years’ experience in commercial real estate in both the academic and private sector. His areas of interest and research covers real estate modelling and forecasting, market analysis and investment strategy. Tony has written many academic and commercial articles as well as book chapters; and has appeared on TV, Radio and at conferences discussing real estate economics, finance and investment strategy. Tony has two degrees in economics from Bath University and Birkbeck College (University of London).

Prior to joining RMIT, Tony had a range of work experience. In the private sector he was global head of forecasting and strategy research at DTZ (now Cushman & Wakefield), and EMEA Head of Forecasting and the Economy for JLL. He also had stints at the Prudential and Hillier Parker (now CBRE) and most recently worked as chief strategist, global real estate strategy at BCA Research (an independent investment research house).

In academia, Tony has taught and was course director for MSc real estate courses at Cass Business School (City, University of London). He also taught at Southampton Institute (now Solent University) and Strathclyde Business School at Strathclyde University, Glasgow.

Tony is a Visiting Professor at the University of Ulster (Belfast) and a Visiting Fellow at the University of Reading. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Property Research and the Journal of European Real Estate Research. He is a member of the Investment Property Forum and the Society of Property Researchers.
